STRIPING & PATTERNING TIPS

Prior to striping/patterning, cut the perimeter of the grass plot, allowing you to easily turn around without sacrificing the integrity of the pattern.

If any obstructions, such as fence lines, retaining walls, flower- beds, are impeding your pattern cut, you may easily remove the cover/roller portion of the Lawn Stryper® Lawn Striping System prior to beginning pattern cut.

Keep ‘Line-of-Sight’ in mind when choosing your pattern. Refer to our FAQ section for more information.

It is important to have a well-maintained lawn in order to experience all the benefits of the Lawn Stryper®, which includes watering, fertilizing, keeping lawn mower blades sharp, mowing regularly and refrain from cutting more than 1/3 of the current grass height.

It is important to know what kind of grass type you have prior to using an S&B lawn striping system. Cool season grasses such as Rye, Fescue and Bluegrass pattern more easily. Warm season grasses such as Bermuda, St. Augustine and Zoysia do not pattern as well due to their coarseness. Refer to the Zone Map as a reference.

Changing mowing patterns and designs every few weeks is healthy for your lawn.

Do not mow your lawn under extreme heat or sun

Use DRY sand when filling roller. Place roller in a secure upright position and use a funnel to aid in pouring the DRY sand into roller. S&B Lawn Systems recommends medium grade, contractor grade sand for roller fill which can be commonly found at your local hardware store or home improvement center.

Try not to mow and pattern your lawn when overly wet

Consider aerating your lawn in the fall to allow for air flow and water to penetrate the root system

Consider an over-seed program

Do not assemble, disassemble, attach, inspect your lawn striping system while the mower is running. Shut off the mower before performing any of these actions.
